The Homicide Squad reports the details of a Fatal Vehicular Accident that occurred on Tuesday, December 12, 2023 at 7:22 pm in North Lawrence.

According to Detectives, an unidentified female pedestrian was crossing Burnside Avenue walking northbound at Washington Place when she was struck by a vehicle which failed to stop and fled the scene. The female pedestrian suffered severe trauma and was pronounced at scene. The investigation is ongoing.

The victim of the above listed incident has been identified as Esmeralda Larios-Perez, 34, of Inwood.

The Homicide Squad reports the arrest of Melvin Deleon, 35, of 80 Wallace Street, Freeport in regards to the above listed incident. He will be arraigned on Wednesday, January 31, 2024 at First District Court, 99 Main Street, Hempstead.
