The Public Information Office reports the details of a Water Emergency that occurred on Sunday, July 7, 2024 at 4:21 pm in Wantagh.

According to police, 911 received a call for a 47-year-old male who dove off the front of his vessel into the shallow water in Zach’s Bay and struck his head injuring his neck. Nassau County Marine Bureau located the victim and transported him to the Jones Beach Theater where he was airlifted via Nassau County Aviation Helicopter 6 to a local area hospital for further evaluation and treatment.
