The Homicide Squad reports on the arrest of a Hicksville man for Vehicle Manslaughter that occurred on Sunday, October 27, 2024 at 3:53 AM in Westbury.
According to Detectives, a 2006 grey Chrysler Sebring was traveling eastbound on Old Country Road when it struck a bicyclist near the intersection of State Street. The driver of the vehicle, defendant Wilfredo Blanco Molina, 41 of 75 Meadow Lane, fled the scene and continued to drive eastbound on Old Country Road. The adult male bicyclist sustained extensive injuries and was pronounced at scene by a Nassau County Police Paramedic. Officers located the defendant a short time later near the intersection of Old Country Road and the Wantagh State parkway. A Standardized Field Sobriety Test (SFST) was conducted resulting in positive results and defendant Wilfredo Blanco Molina was placed under arrest without incident. Further investigation resulted in a white powdery substance believed to be cocaine located on the defendant.
Defendant Wilfredo Blanco Molina is charged with Vehicular Manslaughter 2nd degree, Leaving the Scene of an Incident, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th degree and Driving While Intoxicated. He will be arraigned on Monday, October 28, 2024 at First District Court, located at 99 Main Street, Hempstead.
