The Sixth Squad reports the arrest of two Flushing men for an incident that occurred on Tuesday, July 16, 2024 at 4:24 PM in Manhasset.

According to detectives, an officer was patrolling through the Macys parking lot located at 1100 Northern Boulevard when he was notified by a Macys loss prevention associate that two males had just stolen items and were fleeing in a black Kia. Officers initiated a Vehicle and Traffic Law stop on the vehicle in the vicinity of Northern Boulevard and Community Drive. The vehicles occupants, defendants Lawrence Davis, 37, of 46-18 194^th Street and Hulin Piao, 42, of 139-06 34^th Road were both placed under arrest without incident.

Subsequent to the investigation, it was determined that defendant Lawrence Davis was involved in a physical altercation with a loss prevention associate while fleeing the store.

Both defendants are charged with Robbery 2^nd Degree. Defendant Hulin Piao is also charged with Criminal Possession of Anti-Security Item. They will both be arraigned on Wednesday, July 17^th, 2024 in First District Court, 99 Main Street, Hempstead.
