The Public Information Office reports the arrest of an Island Park man for an incident that occurred on Thursday, October 24, 2024 at 8:00 pm in Inwood.

According to Police, officers responded for a disturbance at the Smoke Bazzar Smoke Shop located at 535 Burnside Avenue. Upon arrival, officers were informed that the Defendant Cristhian Reyes, 23, of 41 Quebec Road was involved in a verbal argument with two other male employees ages 19 and 33. The argument escalated and the defendant displayed a knife placing them in fear for their safety. The defendant then intentionally broke two of the store’s surveillance cameras. He was placed under arrest without incident. No injuries were reported.

Defendant Cristhian Reyes is charged with Criminal Mischief 3^rd Degree, Menacing 2^nd Degree and Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4^th Degree. He will be arraigned on Friday, October 25, 2024 at First District Court, 99 Main Street Hempstead.
