The Second Squad reports the arrest of a Farmingdale woman on May 2, 2024 at 2:37 pm in Hicksville for an “Elder Scam” incident.
According to Second Squad Detectives, members of the Nassau County Fraud and Forgery Unit in conjunction with the United States Post Office Investigations Unit, conducted a joint investigation that led to the arrest of Defendant Michelle Mcintosh, 40, of 45 Walnut Avenue.
The investigation revealed that Defendant Mcintosh contacted a 72-year-old male victim living in Texas and told him that he had won the lottery. The victim was instructed to mail a fee of $9,000.00 cash in order to collect his winnings. The victim complied and when Defendant Mcintosh arrived at the Hicksville Post Office, 185 W John Street, to retrieved the package, she was taken into police custody without incident.
Defendant Michelle Mcintosh is charged with Grand Larceny 3rd Degree and Criminal Possession of Stolen Property. She will be arraigned on May 2, 2024 at First District Court, Hempstead.
