The Eighth Squad reports the arrest of a Valley Stream man for multiple Felonies that occurred on Thursday, April 4, 2024 at 9:10 p.m. in Levittown.
According to Detectives, Nicholas Corrow, 34, of 103 Peninsula Boulevard, burglarized a residence on Loring Road and attempted to steal a car which was parked outside of the home, but was unsuccessful. Defendant Corrow damaged a vehicle outside the home before fleeing south on Loring Road toward Hempstead Turnpike.
Defendant Corrow ran onto Hempstead Turnpike and attempted to steal a motorist’s vehicle who was stopped in traffic but a Nassau County Police Officer arrived on scene and intervened. The Officer was advised through 911 that the defendant had just approached numerous people while brandishing a knife, demanding that they hand over the keys to their vehicles. The defendant remained erratic and combative, refusing to comply with the Officer’s commands and this prompted the Officer to deploy his taser which was ineffective. The defendant was able to enter the patrol vehicle, took possession and started driving, and proceeded to drag the Officer over 20 feet. The defendant continued driving westbound on Hempstead Turnpike before crashing into another vehicle at the intersection of North Bellmore Road. Three occupants were transported to a local area hospital with injuries. The Officer was transported to a local area hospital for treatment for his injuries. The defendant fled from the accident on foot and was apprehended by Officers.
Defendant Corrow is charged with Burglary 2nd Degree, two counts Robbery 2nd degree, three counts of Robbery 1st degree, Criminal Mischief 3rd degree, Criminal Mischief 2nd degree, three counts Menacing 2nd degree, three counts Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd degree, Grand Larceny 4th degree, Grand Larceny 2nd degree, four counts Assault 2nd degree, and Reckless Endangerment. He was arraigned on Friday, April 5, 2024 at First District Court, 99 Main Street in Hempstead.
Defendant Corrow has seven (7) prior Felony arrests, and two (2) Misdemeanor arrests. The defendant is being monitored by probation for a March 18, 2024 arrest.
