The Fifth Squad reports on Grand Larcenies that occurred on multiple dates, beginning on Thursday, November 30, 2023 in Elmont.
According to Detectives, on Thursday, November 30, 2023 two male subjects visited a 70-year-old male victim’s house and stated they were masonry workers and would be willing to perform construction on his house that needed repairs. The victim accepted their offer and over the next two months the subjects would come back and each time state that they found more damages needing repair. They informed the victim each time that they required money deposits to pay for the planned future work. The victim paid the subjects a total of approximately $239,500 USC in which no work was ever done by the subjects. The victim eventually suspected that he was being scammed and notified Police on Tuesday, February 6, 2024. The investigation is ongoing.
The first subject is described as a white male, approximately 50-60 years old, 5’9’’ tall with a stocky build.
The second subject is described as a white male, approximately 30-40 years old, 6’1’’ tall with a thin build. He has short brown hair, a beard and a light complexion.
