The Public Information Office reports the details of a Water Emergency that occurred on Saturday, July 27, 2024 at 3:24 PM in Point Lookout.

According to Police, Marine Bureau 6 responded to a call for a 58-foot vessel with twelve passengers approximately a half mile off shore that was taking on water. The Town of Hempstead Bay Constables, Town of Oyster Bay Bay Constables, Atlantic Beach Rescue as well as numerous neighboring fire departments responded to scene. All passengers were safely brought back to shore. No injuries were reported. SeaTow responded to tow the vessel.
