The Homicide Squad reports the details of a Serious Vehicular Accident involving a bicyclist that occurred on Friday, October 4, 2024 at 9:40 pm in Merrick.
According to detectives, a 41-year-old male operating a 2023 Ford pick-up truck was traveling westbound on Sunrise Highway and was involved in a collision with a 14-year-old male bicyclist traveling northbound on Merrick Avenue.
The bicyclist suffered serious injuries and was transported to a local area hospital for treatment. He is listed in critical condition. The male operator of the Ford pick-up truck remained at the scene. No further injuries were reported.
The investigation is ongoing.
