Seventh Squad Detectives report the arrest of a Miller Place man for a Grand Larceny that occurred on Sunday, July 2, 2023 at 12:00 pm in Merrick.
According to detectives, Anthony Boglino, 38, of 12 Bluff View Road, met with a female as the founder of Miele Consulting Corporation. Boglino met with the female victim, 48, to help her secure a Small Business Administration Loan (SBA). The victim signed a contract with Boglino to obtain a $50,0000 dollar loan. The victim paid a total of $1,100 dollars for processing fees. The victim never received the grant.
During the investigation, detectives discovered nine (9) more victims who paid Boglino fees ranging from $150 to $3,682 dollars. Contracts were sent to victims on SBA letterhead. None of the applicants received SBA loans.
Anthony Boglino was arrested on Tuesday, February 6, 2024 without incident.
Detectives request anyone who feels they may have been a victim to a similar incident to contact Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS or call 911. All callers will remain anonymous.
Defendant Boglino is charged with two (2) counts of Grand Larceny 3rd Degree, two (2) counts of Scheme to Fraud 1st Degree, six (6) counts of Petit Larceny and twenty-three (23) counts of Forgery 2nd Degree. He will be arraigned on Wednesday, February 7, 2024 at First District Court, Hempstead.
