The Eighth Squad reports the arrest of an Old Bethpage male and female for an incident that occurred on Saturday, April 20, 2024 at 7:31 p.m. in Old Bethpage.

According to Detectives, Officers responded to a call for a disturbance at a residence. Upon arrival, Officers were notified of an argument that occurred between defendant Patrick J. Jackson, 54, defendant Dorothy Scotto, 42, both of Old Bethpage and her immediate family members. The argument escalated and defendant Patrick J. Jackson, 54, picked up a loaded shotgun, which placed the victims in fear for their lives, causing them to promptly exit the home and call 911. Upon Police arrival, the defendant was placed under arrest without incident and the shotgun was recovered.

Subsequent to the investigation, six (6) illegal firearms, two (2) switchblade knives and multiple high-capacity magazines were recovered from inside the home, which are in violation of the NY Safe Act. Defendant Dorothy J. Scotto was also placed under arrest without incident.

Defendant Patrick J. Jackson is charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2^nd degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3^rd degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4^th Degree, Menacing 2^nd Degree, Endangering the Welfare of a Child and Failure to Safely Store Firearms 1^st Degree.

Defendant Dorothy Scotto is charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2^nd degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3^rd degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4^th degree and Failure to Safely Store Firearms 1^st degree.  They will both be arraigned on Monday, April 22, 2024 at First District Court, 99 Main Street, Hempstead.
