The Public Information Office reports the details of an Auto Accident that occurred on Monday, March 10, 2025 at 12:50 PM in Baldwin.
According to Police, First Precinct Officers responded to the intersection of Forest Avenue and Clyde Road for an auto accident involving a pedestrian struck. Upon arrival, the Officer located a 20-year-old male who had been struck by a 2017 Nissan Altima operated by a 20-year-old female. The victim was semi-conscious but sustained a severe laceration the top of his right arm and bleeding heavily. The Officer initiated life-saving measures but due to the location of the laceration a tourniquet could be not used. Instead, a bleed stop kit was applied and the wound was packed with gauze to successfully control the bleeding. The victim was transported by a Baldwin Fire Department Ambulance to a nearby hospital where he is currently in stable condition. The operator of the Nissan Altima remained at scene. The investigation is ongoing.
