The Third Squad reports an Arrest of a Mineola man for an Assault that occurred on Monday, December 16, 2024 at 7:30 pm in Westbury.

According to Detectives, Officers responded to a Cross Street residence for a disturbance.  Defendant Mauro Alas Guerra, 45, of 385 Willis Avenue was involved in a verbal argument with a female victim, 45 and male victim, 15. The argument escalated and the defendant broke a window to enter the home. A physical altercation occurred resulting in the defendant striking both victims. 

Upon Police arrival, Officers conducted an investigation and located the defendant, placed him into custody. The defendant was transported to a local area hospital for an evaluation. An Officer sustained an injury at the hospital, as the defendant became violent and combative. 

Defendant Mauro Alas Guerra is charged with Assault 2^nd Degree, Burglary 3^rd Degree, Assault 3^rd Degree, Endangering Welfare of a Child and Criminal Mischief 3^rd Degree. He will be arraigned on Tuesday, December 17, 2024 at First District Court, 99 Main Street Hempstead.
