Honoring Fallen Officers
As part of a year-long commemoration of the 100th Anniversary of the Nassau County Police Department, 50 members of the NCPD who died in the line of duty will be honored with a street named after them. These streets will be throughout Nassau County. Approximately 30 families of the fallen members will be in attendance at this event where they will receive a ceremonial street sign bearing their loved one’s name. County Executive Blakeman, Police Commissioner Patrick Ryder and other elected officials representing the various locations of the street signs will make presentations.
