The Homicide Squad reports the details of a Fatal Vehicular Accident that occurred on Sunday, January 5, 2025 at 5:30 pm in Levittown.

According to Detectives, an 89-year-old male was operating a 2001 Ford Taurus southbound on Loring Road with his 88-year-old female passenger when his vehicle left the roadway and struck a utility pole. The driver of the vehicle was pronounced deceased at scene. The female passenger suffered serious injuries and was transported by Nassau County Police Ambulance to a local area hospital where she succumbed to her injuries. 

The investigation is on-going.

The male driver has been identified as Gerhard Frobart, 89, of Farmingdale. The female passenger has been identified as Ella Gimpel, 88, of East Meadow.
