The Second Squad reports the Arrest of an Oyster Bay man for an Assault that occurred on Friday, December 20, 2024 at 1:50 p.m. in Oyster Bay.
According to Detectives, Officers responded to a residence on Berry Hill Road for a disturbance. Upon arrival, Officers located defendant Evan Patrice, 27, of 128 Berry Hill Road, in his bedroom and observed that he had ignited a small fire and attempted to place him under arrest. Officers sustained injuries during the course of the arrest as the defendant was violent and combative while resisting arrest. Officers did utilize an Electronic Control Device in the process of placing defendant Patrice under arrest. Three injured officers were transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. Defendant Patrice was also transported to a nearby hospital for assessment and treatment. The Oyster Bay Fire Department responded to scene and extinguished the fire, which caused minor damage.
Defendant Patrice is charged with three counts of Assault 2nd Degree, Arson 4th Degree, Criminal Mischief 2nd Degree, and Resisting Arrest. He will be arraigned at First District Court, located at 99 Main Street, Hempstead when medically practical.
