The Fourth Squad reports the arrest of a New Jersey man and two male juveniles for an Attempted Burglary and violating the Mask Transparency Act on Friday, November 22, 2024 at 2:55 a.m. in Woodsburgh.
According to Detective’s, four masked individuals made multiple attempts to illegally enter a residence on Ivy Hill Road. They used a crowbar to pry a rear entrance, causing excessive damage to the home, but activated the homes alarm system and fled on foot. Officers responded and set up a canvas to find the suspects. K9 units responded and assisted Officers in locating three of the four defendants who were arrested without incident: defendant Lamont McCall Granton, 27, of 684 Grove Street in New Jersey, and two 17-year-old male juveniles. Multiple pills, believed to be MDMA, were found on one of the male juveniles. The investigation is ongoing as Police are still looking for the fourth suspect.
Defendant McCall Granton is charged with Attempted Burglary 2nd Degree, Criminal Mischief 3rd Degree, Possession of Burglars Tools, and violating Nassau County’s Title 90-Mask Transparency Law. He will be arraigned on Saturday, November 23, 2024 at First District Court, 99 Main Street in Hempstead.
Male juvenile #1 is charged with Attempted Burglary 2nd Degree, Criminal Mischief 3rd Degree, Possession of Burglars Tools, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd Degree, and violating Nassau County’s Title 90-Mask Transparency Law.
Male juvenile #2 is charged with Attempted Burglary 2nd Degree, Criminal Mischief 3rd Degree, Possession of Burglars Tools, and violating Nassau County’s Title 90-Mask Transparency Law. Both juveniles will be arraigned at First District Court, 99 Main Street in Hempstead on Saturday, November 23, 2024.
