The eighth squad reports the arrest of a Queens man for a Burglary that occurred on Sunday, November 24, 2024 at 2:15 a.m. in Levittown.

According to detectives, eighth precinct patrol officers responded to an alarm at E Smoke and Beer Island, located at 3811 Hempstead Turnpike.  Upon arrival officers observed that the front glass door had been smashed. Officers conducted an investigation and located the defendant Leondre D. Bent, 28, of 11630 171^st Street, Jamaica in the vicinity of the store. It was determined that he did throw a brick through the front glass door. He then entered the store and removed an 18 pack of Budweiser beer from a shelf. The defendant was placed under arrest in front of 3145 Hempstead Turnpike.

Defendant Leondre D. Bent is charged with Burglary 3^rd degree, Criminal Mischief 3^rd degree, and Criminal Possession of Stolen Property. He will be arraigned on Sunday, November 24, 2024 at First District Court, 99 Main Street, Hempstead.
