The First Squad reports the arrest of a Uniondale man for an incident that occurred on Monday, March 24, 2025 at 3:48 am in Uniondale.
According to Detectives, First Precinct officers while on patrol observed a male wearing a black facemask walking southbound on Nassau Road near the intersection of Van Buren Street. As officers approached the male, he began to run northbound on Nassau Road. As the male fled, he threw his jacket, a fanny pack and a switchblade onto the ground. Officers were able to apprehend the defendant, Sergio Espinoza, 20, of 577 Greenwich Street, after a short foot pursuit. No injuries were reported. Subsequent to the investigation, officers recovered a white powdery substance believed to be Cocaine and two white oval pills believed to be Oxycodone from the defendant’s fanny pack.
Defendant Espinoza is charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 4th Degree, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd Degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd Degree, Resisting Arrest, Obstructing Governmental Administration 2nd Degree, Criminal possession of a Controlled Substance 7th Degree and violating the Nassau County Title 90-Mask Transparency Law. He was arraigned on Monday, March 24, 2025 at First District Court, 99 Main Street, Hempstead.
