Fourth Squad Detectives report the arrests of two (2) Queens women for a Grand Larceny that occurred on Saturday, January 4, 2025 at 1:00 pm in Oceanside,

According to detectives, two (2) unknown women entered Victoria’s Secret located at 3527 Long Beach Road.  The subjects concealed merchandise valued at $1,551 dollars inside a shopping bag.   The woman proceeded to exit the store without rendering payment.  One of the women had a small infant against her body in a carrier.  The woman fled the scene in a Honda Civic.

Domenica Rivera Mendieta, 25, and Katherine Cabrera Tapia, 27, of 161-02 118^th Street, were arrested on Thursday, March 27, 2025.

Defendant Mendieta and Tapia are charged with Grand Larceny 4^th Degree.  Tapia has an additional charge of Endangering the Welfare of a Child.  They were issued Appearance Tickets returnable on April 11, 2025 to First District Court, Hempstead.

Further investigation revealed Defendant Mendieta has an outstanding Warrant of Removal pending with US Immigration Customs Enforcement (ICE) and has been placed into their custody.
