The Homicide Squad is investigation a Fatal Vehicular Accident involving a pedestrian that occurred on Saturday, March 29, 2025 at 2:03 a.m. in Hempstead.
According to Detectives, a 66-year-old male pedestrian while attempting to cross North Franklin Avenue was struck by a 2024 Hyundai, operated by a 48-year-old male, traveling southbound on North Franklin Avenue in the vicinity of Centre Street. The pedestrian was transported by an ambulance to a local hospital where he was pronounced by a hospital Physician.
The operator of the vehicle remained at the scene.
The investigation is ongoing.
