Fourth Squad Detectives report the arrest of two (2) men for a Petit Larceny that occurred on Monday, April 14, 2025 at 12:46 pm in Lawrence.

According to detectives, officers responded to Marshall's located at 345 Rockaway Turnpike, for two male subjects that had concealed merchandise and attempted to exit the store without rendering payment.  Both subjects fled the scene before police arrival.  

A short while later Defendant Carlos Luis Moreno Yepez, 22, of 50 E River Lane, New York and Defendant Gerson Josue Gimenez Torrealba, 21, of 45 E River Lane, New York were located behind 343 Rockaway Turnpike Lawrence, NY 11559 and placed into custody.

Defendant Moreno Yepez and Defendant Gimenez Torrealba are both charged with Petit Larceny.  They were issued Appearance Tickets returnable on May 9, 2025 to First District Court, Hempstead.

Further investigation revealed that both defendants had an outstanding Warrant of Removal pending with US Immigration Customs Enforcement (ICE) and have been placed into their custody.
