The Seventh Squad reports the arrest of a Roosevelt man for an incident that occurred on Monday, April 14, 2025 at 10:35 pm in Massapequa.
According to Detectives, Criminal Intelligence Rapid Response Team (CIRRT) Officers while on patrol observed a 2011 Ford Mustang traveling westbound on Sunrise Highway near the intersection of Old Sunrise Highway failing to signal while unsafely cutting across three lanes of traffic. The Officers activated their emergency lights and sirens in an attempt to conduct a Vehicle and Traffic Law stop. The vehicle entered into the parking lot of 5500 Sunrise Highway where the operator activated a device on the vehicles rear license plate that covered it in an attempt to conceal the plate number before exiting the parking lot and fleeing eastbound on Merrick Road. Officers had already obtained the plate number before it was fully concealed and went to the vehicles registered address, where the vehicle was located nearby and its operator, defendant Keven Pineda, 18 of 7 West Roosevelt Avenue was soon after placed under arrest without further incident.
Defendant Keven Pineda is charged with Tampering with Public Record 1st degree, Tampering with Physical Evidence, Reckless Driving and multiple Vehicle Traffic Law Infractions. Defendant Keven Pineda will be arraigned on Tuesday, April 15, 2025 at First District Court, located at 99 Main Street, Hempstead.
