The Nassau County Police Department Fugitive Squad reports the arrest of a Long Beach man that occurred on Tuesday, April 15, 2025 at 1:30 pm in Long Beach.
According to detectives, the Nassau County Fugitive Squad responded to 100 W Broadway and located Defendant Edward Kenna, 49, at his residence to place him under arrest for an active Nassau County Bench Warrant. Defendant Kenna refused to comply with verbal commands and resisted as police attempted to place him into custody. As a result of him being violent and combative, an officer sustained injuries during the course of the arrest. The officer was transported to an area hospital for treatment and evaluation.
Defendant Edward Kenna is charged with Assault 2nd Degree, Resisting Arrest, Bail Jumping 3rd Degree and an open Nassau County Warrant for Criminal Contempt 2nd Degree. He will be arraigned on April 16, 2025 at First District Court, 99 Main Street, Hempstead.
