The First Squad reports the arrest of a Queens man for Assault and Robbery that occurred on Wednesday, June 12, 2024 and Tuesday, August 6, 2024 at 10:30 p.m. in Nassau County.
According to Detectives, a female victim, 43, was involved in a verbal argument with defendant Phillip Mais, 35, of 10758 Watson Place. The argument escalated into a physical altercation resulting in the defendant forcibly removing the victim from her vehicle, he then grabbed her around the neck and threatened her with a firearm. The victim was in fear for her life and fled the scene. Shortly after, the defendant entered the victim’s residence and damaged various items. Defendant Philip Mais was located and taken into custody without incident. The victim refused medical attention.
Subsequent to the investigation, it was determined that the victim was also Assaulted by the defendant on Wednesday, June 12, 2024 in Valley Stream. The defendant struck the victim in the face numerous times with a closed fist before he forcibly removed her cell phone and smashed it on the ground preventing her from calling 911.
He is charged with Robbery 2nd Degree, Burglary 2nd Degree, Grand Larceny 4th Degree, Criminal Mischief 3rd Degree, Assault 3rd Degree, Menacing 2nd Degree, Criminal Obstruction of Breathing, and two counts of Criminal Mischief 4th Degree. He will be arraigned on Thursday, August 8, 2024 at First District Court, 99 Main Street Hempstead. Defendant Mais has been arrested five times for various violent crimes in New York City. He was released from prison in 2021 after serving ten years for Robbery 1st Degree and Attempted Murder.
