The Homicide Squad reports an update on an investigation that began in June of 1997 in Lakeview.

According to Detectives, remains of a female victim were located in Hempstead Lake State Park on June 28, 1997. These remains have now been identified as Tanya Jackson, who was 26 at the time of her death.  On April 11, 2011, remains of female toddler were discovered at Gilgo Beach in Gilgo, New York. These remains have now been identified as Tatiana Dykes, who was two at the time of her death. Subsequently it was determined that Tatiana Dykes was the daughter of Tanya Jackson.

Detectives request anyone with information regarding the above homicide to contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS (8477) or call 911. All callers will remain anonymous.
