The Narcotics Vice Squad reports the arrest of an Amityville man for the Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substances that occurred on Monday, April 21, 2025 at 9:04 p.m. in Massapequa.
According to Detectives, while conducting an investigation in the parking lot of 6207 Sunrise Highway, Massapequa Park, the defendant, Joseph N. Jones, 35, of 3553 Great Neck Road, was found to be possessing and selling a white powdery substance believed to be cocaine. When detectives attempted to arrest the defendant, he fled on foot. When officers caught him, he resisted and caused injuries to five officers. One officer required surgery as a result of his injuries.
The defendant was also the subject in three prior Controlled Substance Sales of a white powdery substance believed to be cocaine:
- Sunday, February 23, 2005, William Street, North Merrick
- Wednesday, March 12, 2025, William Street, North Merrick
- Saturday, April 5, 2025, 5204 Sunrise Highway, Massapequa Park.
Defendant Joseph N. Jones is charged with four counts of Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance 3rd degree, four counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd degree, Assault of a Police Officer, three counts of Assault 2nd degree, and Resisting Arrest. He was arraigned on Monday, April 22, 2025 at First District Court, 99 Main Street, Hempstead.
