The First Squad reports the arrest of three men at 8:10pm on Monday, May 9, 2022 in Roosevelt.
According to Detectives, Officers on patrol observed a 2021 Jeep Wrangler color gray fail to obey a stop sign and conducted a Vehicle and Traffic Law stop at the corner of Park Avenue and E. Clinton Avenue. The Officers observed three occupants in the vehicle who began to react nervously to their verbal commands. Officers then requested the occupants to exit the vehicle, when the rear passenger exited the vehicle, he attempted to flee the scene but was stopped by Officers. Subsequent to the investigation it was determined that the subject was in possession of a loaded Kimber Ultra .45 caliber handgun and three pills believed to be Oxycodone and Amphetamine were located in the vehicle. No injuries were reported.
Arrested at the scene were: Defendant Jihad Prunty, 20, of 2537 N. Jerusalem Road East Meadow; charged with Criminal Possession of a Firearm, two counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd Degree and two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance. Defendant Prunty will be arraigned on Tuesday, May 10, 2022 in First District Court 99 Main Street Hempstead. Defendants Guillermo Ospina, 21, of 1611 N. Jerusalem Road East Meadow and Tyriq Lobban, 18, of 36 Gusto Lane Roosevelt are each charged with one count of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance and were issued a Desk Appearance Ticket returnable to First District Court on May 30, 2022.
