The Arson Bomb Squad is investigating a house fire that occurred on Saturday, May 25, 2024 at 11:24 am in Valley Stream.

According to detectives, Fifth Precinct police responded to a house fire   that was located at 117 Lutz Drive. Upon arrival, police observed a fire that was coming from the basement of the home. The fire did cause substantial structural damage to a section of the home. Residents of the home a 63-year-old male and a 62-year-old female were outside of the home with no reported injuries. An investigation revealed that there was also a small gas explosion that had occurred. The Valley Stream Fire Department had responded to extinguish the flames. The Nassau County Fire Marshall was also on scene. The investigation is ongoing.
