The First Squad reports the arrest of two Freeport men for an incident that occurred on Friday, June 21, 2024 at 3:00 a.m. in Roosevelt.
According to detectives, First Precinct patrol units conducted a Vehicle and Traffic Law stop in front of 380 Nassau Road for a 2021 Mercedes four door sedan that was traveling northbound on Nassau Road. During the investigation police determined the vehicle was unregistered and instructed the two occupants to exit the vehicle so it could be impounded. Defendant Iverson Morillo, 21, of 160 Guy Lombardo Boulevard exited the driver seat and defendant Christopher Lora, 26, of 63 North Bayview Avenue exited the front passenger seat. During the inventory search of the vehicle, pursuant to the impound, officers located a silver and black SCCY CPX-2 9-millimeter handgun, loaded with 10 rounds of ammunition located in the center console. Officers also discovered a large amount of concentrated cannabis. The two defendants were placed under arrest without further incident.
Defendants Iverson Morillo and Christopher Lora are both charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd degree, Criminal Possession of a Firearm, and Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4th degree. Defendant Morillo is additionally charged with Criminal Sale of Cannabis 2nd degree and Criminal Possession of Cannabis 3rd degree. They will be arraigned on Saturday, June 22, 2024 at First District Court, 99 Main Street, Hempstead.
