The Seventh Squad reports the details of the arrest of two females on Wednesday, July 6, 2016 for a Robbery that occurred in Massapequa.
According to detectives, on June 19, 2016 Kimberly Decicco, 44 and her daughter Erika Obritis, 24, no known addresses, entered an unlocked 1997 Pontiac van parked at the Budget Inn, 400 Carmen Mill Road, located the keys in the vehicle, and drove to Best Yet Market, 5601 Merrick Road, Massapequa. While in the parking lot Decicco exited the vehicle and approached a 76 year old female and grabbed her pocketbook from her shoulder. She gave the pocketbook to Obritis who was seated in the vehicle at the time and they fled in the vehicle westbound on Merrick Road.
On July 6, 2016 Seventh Squad detectives were notified by Suffolk County Police they had located the stolen vehicle parked in a lot at 680 Commack Road, Commack. A short time after their arrival Decicco was observed attempting to enter the vehicle and was placed under arrest. Obritis was located a short time later at 690 Commack Road and placed under arrest.
Both defendants are charged with Robbery 2nd degree and Grand Larceny 4th degree. They will be arraigned on Thursday, July 07, 2016 at First District Court in Hempstead.
