The First Squad reports the arrest of a Brooklyn man for Burglary on Thursday, June 18, 2015 at 5:56 a.m. in N. Bellmore.
According to detectives, First Precinct officers responded to a burglary call at 2:36 a.m. on Stratford Avenue. Upon their arrival they were informed that a male was seen fleeing on foot from the rear of the residence. The officers conducted a search of the area with the assistance of the Nassau County Air Bureau and Canine Unit. After an extensive search the defendant Larry R. Nero, 23 of 1322 Bedford Avenue was located in the rear yard of a Ray Place residence and placed under arrest. Upon his arrest the subject was found to be in possession of the key to a Toyota 4-Runner which was located nearby. The vehicle had been previously reported stolen from New York City. A search of the vehicle discovered numerous forged credit cards along with a skimming device. A subsequent investigation revealed that Nero had committed two additional burglaries, one on June 10, 2015 in N. Merrick and on June 13, 2015 in N. Bellmore.
Nero is charged with (3) three counts of Burglary 2nd degree, (16) sixteen counts of Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument 2nd degree, Criminal Possession of a Forgery Device and Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 3rd degree. He will be arraigned on Friday, June 19, 2015 at First District Court in Hempstead.
