The Second Squad reports the arrest of a Levittown man for Criminal Possession of a Weapon that occurred on Saturday, December 13, 2014 at 9:15 p.m. in Hicksville.
According to detectives, Bureau of Special Operations officers were on routine patrol at the Broadway Mall, 955 Broadway when they smelled a strong odor of marijuana emanating from a 2006 Ford Fusion. As they approached the vehicle they observed Harold V. Villieres, 30 of 474 Newbridge Road smoking what appeared to be marijuana and pass it to the driver, Shameka McCreary, 29 of 275 44 Street, Copiague. As they moved closer they observed a small sandwich bag filled with a substance believed to be marijuana between Villieres legs. The officer asked Villieres exit the vehicle and while placing him under arrest discovered a loaded defaced .40 caliber Sig Sauer gun in his waistband. Villieres began to struggle with the officers for a brief time, but was eventually placed under arrest along with McCreary.
Mcreary is charged with Criminal Possession of Marijuana 5th degree and will appear at First District Court on January 2, 2015.
Villieres is charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 5th degree, Criminal Possession of Marijuana 5th degree, (2) two Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd, Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd degree and Resisting Arrest. He will be arraigned on Saturday, December 14, 2014 at First District Court in Hempstead.
