The First Squad reports the arrests of two males on Sunday, October 25, 2015 at 5:18am in Hempstead.
According to Detectives, two officers on routine patrol observed a tan colored Honda Accord travelling at a high rate of speed without headlights illuminated. The officers conducted a Vehicle and Traffic Law stop on Greenwich Street and Ann Street. Upon approaching the vehicle the officers smelled a strong odor of marijuana emanating from the vehicle. The investigation resulted in two arrests. The driver, David J. Solomon, 31, of 46 Catlin Avenue Roosevelt was arrested for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance, Aggravated Unlicensed Operation and two traffic violations. The rear passenger, Phillip Sanders, 37, of 151A Hudson Avenue Roosevelt was arrested for Criminal Possession of a Weapon for a loaded firearm located on the rear seat. Both arrestees will be arraigned on Monday, October 26, 2015 in First District Court 99 Main Street Hempstead.
