The Homicide Squad is investigating a car fire that occurred on Friday, May 14, 2021 at 10:45 a.m. in Freeport.
According to Detectives, Freeport Police Officers responded to a car fire at 29 Seaman Avenue. Upon arrival officers discovered a fully engulfed vehicle in the rear yard. Freeport Fire Department responded and were able to extinguish the fire. Once the fire was extinguished a body of an undetermined gender was discovered in the vehicle. This person was pronounced deceased at the scene by a Nassau County Police Medic.
Detectives from the Homicide Squad, Arson/Bomb Squad and Freeport Police Department are continuing with the investigation.
