Third Squad detectives are investigating a robbery that occurred in Westbury on Sunday, October 18, 2015 at 1:20 A.M.
According to detectives, three subjects on bicycles, armed with a handgun and knives, approached two male victims, 17 and 20, while walking on Old Country Rd./Sylvester St. and then speaking in Spanish, demanded the victims’ property. One victim complied and handed over his cell phone and wallet containing cash. The other victim refused and was struck on the head with the handgun, causing a small laceration. The subject then reached into the victim’s pocket and removed his cell phone and wallet containing a credit card. The three males fled on their bicycles westbound on Old Country Rd. and then south on Grand Blvd.
No other injuries were reported.
The subjects are described as male Hispanics in their twenties, tall with thin builds, wearing black ski masks and dressed in dark clothing. No further description is available.
