The Fifth Squad reports the arrest of (2) two males for Grand Larceny that occurred on Sunday, May 8, 2022 at 8:25 AM in Elmont.
According to Detectives, Fifth Precinct officers responded to a call on Clement Avenue for two males 19, and 20, attempting to use a red and black colored Milwaukee reciprocating saw to remove the catalytic converter from numerous vehicles. Upon police arrival, a homeowner and his son had both subjects detained.
Upon further investigation, it was determined that defendant Geordan Campbell, 19, of 110 W 114th Street, Manhattan and Tevin Reid, 20, of 4002 Carpenter Ave, Bronx were responsible for numerous catalytic converter larcenies that occurred on Hunnewell Avenue and Louis Avenue between the hours of 5:00 AM and 8:25 AM. The defendants were placed under arrest without further incident.
Both Defendants are charged with (2) two counts of Grand Larceny 4th Degree, (4) counts of Criminal Mischief 3rd Degree, (4) counts of Possession of Burglar Tools, (4) counts of Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 5th Degree, (4) counts of Auto Stripping 1st Degree and (2) two counts of Petit Larceny. They will be arraigned on Monday, May 9, 2022 at First District Court, 99 Main Street, Hempstead.
